The path to medicine is extremely competitive at both New Zealand and Australian universities.
Students often try a Plan B option when direct entry into a Bachelor of Medicine is not successful. This can mean studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, and then trying to get into medicine through a graduate route.
This adds some extra study time and entry from biomedical science is also extremely competitive at most universities.
Here, Bond University offers two advantages
1) Due to the condensed 3-semester per year program of Bond bachelor degrees, a Bachelor in Biomedical Science takes 2 years NOT 3 years at Bond University. This saves students one year of study time compared to the same bachelor at other universities.
and
2) Bond University has 50 places for students to progress from their Bachelor of Biomedical Science into Year two of the Bachelor of Medical Studies (followed by MD).
Students must study their Bachelor of Biomedicine at Bond as these places are offered to help students who are already studying at Bond continue to become doctors.
