University of Otago

As New Zealand’s first university, founded in 1869, The University of Otago has earned an international reputation for the quality of its research, teaching, dentistry and medical sciences. Located in Dunedin, the University of Otago is also the only university in New Zealand which provides a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Otago has a total of over 20,000 local and international students enrolled. Most undergraduate and postgraduate study takes place on the Dunedin campus, but the University is also represented in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Invercargill. The University of Otago offers a rich cultural life, reflecting a diverse international student community and the predominantely student propulation of Dunedin.
